ABOUT ARCHIPRODUCT DESIGN AWARD
Archiproducts is a network platform for Architecture and Design professionals and official digital partner of Salone Del Mobile - the largest trade fair of the industry since 1961. Archiproducts Design Award or ADA is considered a prestigious event in the framework of Milan Furniture Fair.
Although Salone Del Mobile 2020 was postponed, ADA 5th edition - the first virtual edition of its kind - still gathers a jury of more than 60 renowned and emerging architecture firms, designers, creative directors, editors, photographers and creative hubs to choose the best of the best from 750 submissions from all over the world. The participants’ originality, innovation, and experimentation have brought this year's competition to a whole new level.

Its conscious and no-frills design underlines District Eight’s distinctive vision to articulate Vietnamese storied craftsmanship from a contemporary perspective - one that is inspired by European ingenuity, and resonates with people all over the world.
A delicate balance between understated clarity and intuitive elegance, the Stilt armchair is outfitted with enveloping cushions that relax the body along the line of an ergonomically reclined platform, while providing tactile comfort thanks to their minute construction.
Designer Spotlight: Toan Nguyen
Toan Nguyen’s design discipline prioritizes user-friendliness along with aesthetics while maintaining the sensuality of materials and the emotional impact of the object. This creative individuality has been acknowledged by flagship contemporary design brands such as District Eight, Dedon, Laufen, Fendi Casa, Bugatti Home, Brown Jordan, Coalesse, etc. Besides other prestigious international prizes, Stilt Armchair is his third ADA winning design out of the five times the event was held.

With the sofa and armchair, separate back and seat cushions gently slot into a slender wood platform that comes in either leather or fabric upholstery. Together they’re supported by a sinuous frame, whose seemingly simple structure pays homage to traditional stilt houses found in Northern and Central Vietnam.
