Description
Product Info
From a sofa collection of monolithic stature, the Joss Daybed is a contemporary statement in harmony and serenity. Characterized by an upper curvature, the design's solid wood base pays homage to elements of traditional roofs found in Southeast Asian architecture. The continuity of curved lines is mirrored in their generous foam seats, backrests, and armrests. They emphasize comfort in exceptional volumes and upholstery, while embodying District Eight's precision in craftsmanship, construction, and details.

Toan Nguyen
Toan Nguyen describes himself as a French citizen and an Italian designer. After graduating from ENSCI in Paris in 1995 and gaining professional experience in Paris, Barcelona and Milan, he founded his eponymous studio in Milan in 2009. Since then, he has developed a body of work spanning furniture, lighting, ceramics and technology, with numerous projects receiving prestigious international design awards.
For Toan Nguyen, design is a discipline intimately bound up with the object, in the traditional sense of the term. Priority is given to the physical relationship with the user: immediate legibility of use, intelligible forms and optimized manufacturing processes take precedence, without ever neglecting the sensuality of materials or the emotional impact of the object.
Given his Vietnamese heritage on his father's side and his experience in furniture design, his collaboration with District Eight felt like it was meant to be.
